Hazel developed her passion for choral singing at high school under the direction of former Voices NZ member Chris Burcin. She was a member of the NZSSC and the NZYC, and directed the Wellington Youth Choir. Currently she sings with Supertonic and is teaching music at Wainuiomata High School.

Will has been with the New Zealand Youth Choir since 2014 and is a current member.
Originally from Auckland, Will now lives in Wellington where he is currently at Victoria University of Wellington studying Classical Performance in Voice.

Will joined Voices early 2018.

Ella is a student at Auckland University studying for a Bachelor in Music and Commerce.

She is a current member of the New Zealand Youth Choir and Auckland Chamber Choir. Ella is working with her singing teacher Dr. Morag Atchison and enjoys singing under Dr Karen Grylls at ACC.

Ella joined Voices NZ in early 2018.

Warren was a member of the 2013 NZ Youth Choir. Warren is an enthusiastic madrigalist, a part time oboist, and he has had the opportunity to sing with a number of New Zealand’s leading choirs over the past decade.

Warren studied Music and Accounting at the University of Auckland, graduating in 2008. He has sung with the Auckland Chamber Choir, Bach Musica and many small ensembles. He is a Chartered Accountant.

Michael was a member of the Bass section of the New Zealand Youth Choir. In 2003-2004, he was a member of the New Zealand Secondary Students’ Choir. In these choirs, he has travelled to North America, Europe, South-East Asia and Australia.

Michael completed an Honours Degree in Music at the New Zealand School of Music in 2008, majoring in Composition; and subsequently trained as a Secondary Music teacher at the University of Canterbury. In 2011, Michael returned home to Invercargill, and has since taught classroom Music at James Hargest High School, itinerant piano and voice at Southland Girls High School, and Music Therapy at Ruru Specialist School.

Outside of music, Michael enjoys a variety of sports, particularly cricket, travelling the world and reading.

Michael is from Wellington and currently lives in Auckland.

He is a school teacher.

Nigel Tongs is a primary school educator in Palmerston North, teaching classroom, choral and instrumental programmes. He directs the Saturday Music programme and the Music Ministry at St Alban’s Presbyterian Church. Nigel performs as a tenor soloist in the central North Island as well as being a member of the Renaissance Singers choir, conducted by Guy Donaldson. His most recent performances have been in Wanganui, Hastings, Palmerston North and at the 2017 New Zealand Singing School.
